THE ORDER IN WHICH OUR MISSION STATION WAS ESTABLISHED
(2) By 1938, Bishop Joseph C. Hartzell, a Methodist Bishop, who made a notable efforts in Liberia to up life the work of the Methodist church, donated some money with which the first school building that bears his name, was established: Hartzell Building had only 4 classrooms, a small library and a principal’s office. This school that started with a humble beginning has educated thousands of students, who have gone on to make significant and critical difference in Liberia and other parts of the world in many fields and professions or careers in both the private and public sectors.

The Current look of Hartzell School Building

The school administration of the 2000s decided to change the color of the stone building to Yellow and Blue, two of the 3 colors of the school. Green is the other color not addede here.
The Gymnasium is used for multipurpose. Basketball is played here and at times, it is used as an auditorium when major programs such as commencements, Flag day celebration or a large gathering is taking place.
Morning school students are leaving classes while afternoon students are coming to school.
During the 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s and 70s, students wore uniform during special programs, but after the 90, uniforms were daily wear at school and during occasions.
