His is the only authentic written Documentary History we have of the establishment Tand growth of the Ganta United Methodist Mission in Liberia. This book details how the Harleys came to Liberia in 1926, sent by the Methodist Episcopal Board of Missions to build a Medical Mission in Liberia. This is an exciting story of modern MERICLE. It informs us about the chiefs and other leaders from the establishment and from the Indigenous Mah Community who helped to bring this mission to fruition. The Harleys negotiated for a rice farm on top of a hill in Gompa town where this institution was built. You will read about the different chiefs and community leaders in the Mah areas who made this institution possible. You will also read about the challenges and opportunities the Harleys and other missionaries experienced in building this institution. Some of our parents and grandparents worked very hard side by side with the Harleys on this project. You will learn about our humble beginning in Healthcare provision, School establishment, and how the building of a Church became the culminating point of the Harleys’ ministry in Liberia. All former Ganta Mission students must read this book. This includes those who studied nursing at Ganta Mission Hospital. This is our STORY TOO. (THIS HISTORY BOOK ABOUT GANTA MISSION).
